The Disability Hub would like to draw your attention to Sheffield City Council’s Review of Sex Establishments in the City policy and consultation.
Sheffield City Council is responsible for the regulation (administration and enforcement) of sex establishments within the Sheffield boundary. Sex establishments includes: sex shops, sex cinemas and sexual entertainment venues. The new policy is designed to promote high standards, protect the public and safeguard children and the vulnerable.
This document sets out Sheffield City Council’s general approach to the licensing of sex establishments, and at the heart of the policy is a commitment to:
Protect the public and Promote public safety; Safeguard children and the vulnerable; Prevent crime & disorder and Prevent public nuisance.
Through the above approach we hope to support the Council’s priorities:
An in touch organisation; Strong economy; Thriving neighbourhoods and communities; Better health and wellbeing; and Tackling inequalities.
The Licensing Service is currently reviewing its policy in relation to “Sex Establishments”, and are eager to get feedback from as large a section of the community as possible and would welcome comments regarding the new Policy.
