Off The Shelf 2019

Off The Shelf 2019

Off The Shelf, which describes itself as ‘one of Britain’s largest and most accessible literary events’ returns to Sheffield from October 5-26.

The organisers say: “For 28 years Off the Shelf has brought some of the best known names in writing to the city. Our audiences have grown in response to a programme that showcases literature, politics, poetry, journalism, music, history, science and more and for 2019 we are delighted to extend our activity with events in Barnsley, Rotherham and Doncaster.”

This year, events take place at 18 venues . All the main venues have disabled access although you are asked to inform the box office when booking if you or a member of your party is a wheelchair user.

Here is a list of all the events including Festival Fringe events.

A brochure is also available. A CD version of the programme is available from the Central Library, community libraries or by telephoning 0114 222 3895.

If you have any questions you can email Off the Shelf at offtheshelf@sheffield.ac.uk

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)
