The Centre for Social Justice is an independent think-tank that studies the root causes of Britain’s social problems and addresses them by recommending practical, workable policy intervention.
In anticipation of the publication of the government’s Strategy for Disabled People, the CSJ Disability Commission has published their ‘Now is the Time’ report, which sets out ambitious and transformative recommendations across employment, education, housing, transport and access to goods and services to support the ability of disabled people to live independently.
The Commission Chair , Lord Shinkwin in the report’s foreword says
“As this report shows, disabled people have been hit disproportionately hard by Coronavirus and the consequent lockdowns. Urgent action is needed if we are not to be left behind as Britain builds back better. Our recommendations enable the Prime Minister to keep his promise of the most ambitious and transformative disability plan in a generation.
