Are you are you a parent/carer of a child or young person with autism or other neurodevelopment needs such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder(ADHD)?
If so you may be interested in a workshop taking place later this month designed to focus on improving neurodevelopmental services in the Sheffield area. It takes place on Tuesday 23rd March from 10.30am-12.30pm.
The workshop has been organised by local NHS organisations, Sheffield City Council and the Sheffield Parent Carer Forum, who are together setting up what will be known as the Sheffield Neurodevelopment Programme.
If you take part you will hear about how the programme started, the changes that have taken place so far, and have the opportunity to contribute to what they are looking at now, and what they need to do next.
In particular they are looking for input into:
- How to support front-line staff to identify and support vulnerabilities and other early signs of neurodevelopment needs.
- What support should be available for parents, families and young people to help them manage neurodevelopment needs.
- Exploring which services could be delivered closer to home, for example in schools.
- What improvements should take place in the way assessments are done.
