Mental Health Taskforce Report Published

Mental health problems represent the largest single cause of disability in the UK . One in four adults experiences at least one diagnosable mental health problem in any given year. As a result the ‘Five Year Forward View For Mental Health’ NHS report has been published, which claims that increased investment, higher expectations about the quality of services and closer scrutiny will all lead to better care and treatment for people who experience mental ill health. A fundamental principle of the Taskforce recommendations is that mental health needs should be treated with equal importance to physical health needs, whatever NHS service people are using. When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)
