Make it Together

Make it Together

Are you finding it hard to join local creative groups?

Deaf and Disabled people are four times more likely to feel lonely than non-disabled people. It’s no wonder, when we face more barriers to activities that help us be in the community.

Disability Rights UK is working with Creative Lives to host an Arts Council England funded project called ‘Make It Together’.

It’s a relaxed, online ‘hangout’ for Deaf & Disabled people to get creative and chat about what’s getting in the way of joining local craft, dance, zine-making and other everyday creative spaces in your local area.

Their first hangout is happening online on 14th October from 12noon to 1pm, where you’ll be joined by special guest, Lisette Auton.

Recent Feedback

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.
