Help with mental health problems is at your fingertips thanks to a new online guide. The website, built from the ground up by Sheffield Flourish in partnership with local people, has been designed to help us navigate the highs and lows of our journeys – and has been launched today on what is thought to be ‘the saddest day of the year’ – the third Monday of January, commonly known as Blue Monday.“We know that out of darkness can come light and we hope to brighten up this cold day” said a spokesperson. “What’s being launched today was built through co-production, and we hope it reflects the wonderful community we have in this city. Most of all, we hope it will make navigating mental health in Sheffield that bit easier.”
Sheffield Mental Health guide offers information about and tips on how to cope with more than two dozen conditions including depression, anxiety and eating disorders, along with personal accounts from those affected. You can search for local support and activities. There are also details of subjects such as advocacy, carers and the prevalence of mental health problems in black and minority ethnic people.
