Sheffield City Council
Sheffield City Council has recently produced a Cost of Living Support Document, which offers general advice on ways in which you can make savings and cut costs as well as tips on fuel and energy support, housing support and grants and funding.
It says: “Over the past few months, millions of people have experienced increases in the cost of living, including rises in petrol, food, and gas and electric charges. This has left many facing tough decisions about how to spend their money, and many others in need of advice and financial support to afford rent, fuel bills, and everyday items. As a result, we have put this list together which shows the resources available in the Sheffield area.”
GOV.UK
Help for Households is a new site on GOV.UK detailing a range of government support measures that can help people deal with the increasing costs of living. It includes information about the new ‘Energy Price Guarantee’ and sections on help with childcare, finding work, and transport costs etc..
Money Saving Expert
Consumer website MoneySavingExpert offers a page entitled 31 MoneySaving tips for disabled people T
They say: “On average, life can cost a whopping £583 more each month if you’re disabled, according to disability charity Scope. So we’ve rounded up as many tips for disabled MoneySavers as we can – from knowing your consumer rights and what adjustments firms should make for you, to how to get a key to accessible toilets or a ‘free’ cinema ticket for a friend/carer.”
