The Accessible Information Standard was published by NHS England, following approval as a new ‘information standard’ for the NHS and adult social care system, in July 2015. The standard directs and defines a specific, consistent approach to identifying, recording, flagging, sharing and meeting individuals’ information and communication support needs, where those needs relate to a disability, impairment or sensory loss. NHS England has recently launched a review of the Accessible Information Standard. The aim of the review is to assess the impact of the new Standard and to ensure that it is ‘fit for purpose’. NHS England is inviting views in three surveys, aimed at different groups. Find out more and how to give your views in this Survey for patients, service users, carers and parents. There is a recording of the survey for British Sign Language users on YouTube .
