Free Green Home Grants : Apply Now

Free Green Home Grants : Apply Now

Sheffield City Council has received funding and has partnered with the energy company E.ON to deliver the Green Homes Grant to improve the energy efficiency of homeowners’ households for free. This will help make your home cheaper to heat and reduce its ‘carbon footprint’.

You do not need to be an E.ON customer to apply.

Please note the scheme has funding for a limited number of installations only. It is operating on a first come, first served basis and if you are interested you should apply as soon as possible.

You may be eligible if you meet all of these requirements:

  • your property is in Sheffield
  • you own and live in your home (including long-leaseholders and shared ownership with the permission of the freeholder) or park home on a residential site (including Gypsy or Traveller sites)
  • your household has a combined gross annual household income of less than £30,000 or a member of your household receives benefits
  • your property has a low Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating of band E, F or G

The grant is not open to owners who rent out their property.

If you are eligible, E.ON will assess your property and work out what improvements you can get. This may include:

  • external wall, cavity wall and loft insulation
  • double glazing
  • solar energy
  • smart heating controls

but does not include boiler replacements or repairs

More information including the list of eligibile benefits and how to apply online is available on Sheffield City Council’s Website.

Alternatively you can ring E.ON on 0333202 4820 and view the information on their website here.

Recent Feedback    (We'd love to receive your feedback, please click here to add some)

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.
