It’s with sadness and anticipation, appropriately at the close of 2022 and the start of 2023, that we have bidden a fond farewell to out previous CEO Emily Morton and welcome Stephen Bonner as our new Chief Executive Officer.
Many of you will know Emily, who’s been part of Disability Sheffield in various roles for 13 years, leading us through difficult times for the past five years. We cannot sing Emily’s praises high enough, always a steadying, considerate and supportive hand, encouraging and enthusiastic, diligent and fair minded. We wouldn’t be where we are today without her. We wish Emily every success in her new adventure in Wales with Citizens Advice and enjoying the outdoors life Emily loves. If you’d like to say a final goodbye Emily will be at our Winter Party on Sunday 15th January.
Stephen ( Steve ) Bonner has worked in the charity sector for 25 years and brings a wealth of experience to lead us forward – from working with small community organisations to large nationals like the Children’s Society, CAFOD and MIND, including as head of programme management on the Time to Change mental health anti-stigma programme for 5 years.
Having had lived experience of mental health, Steve is excited to join us at Disability Sheffield and looking forward to the opportunity to contribute and help strengthen our disabled community, its passions and causes.
