Disability Sheffield Shortlisted for the Guardian Charity Awards

We are proud to announce that we have made the shortlist for the Guardian Charity Awards which is very exciting. There were over 700 applications and we have made the top 30 shortlist .

The Guardian Charity Awards offer a unique platform to celebrate the success of small and medium-sized charities working to improve social wellbeing. For 24 years, the Guardian has showcased charities’ work and given winners the backing and profile they need to move forward.

The five winning charities will be announced at an awards lunch on 13 December at the Guardian’s London head office.

Emily Morton, Disability Sheffield Chief Executive said
“This is an incredible achievement and a great acknowledgement of the work we do. We have a good profile and reputation in the City and this can only help to support us as we work towards making the organisation sustainable in the longer term. I would like to thank all our staff, volunteers and trustees for their commitment and passion in working towards making Sheffield a better place for disabled people to live.”

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)
