The next meeting of the Disability Hub is on Tuesday 25 September 2018 at The Circle on Rockingham Lane, the home of Voluntary Action Sheffield.
The Disability Hub meeting is one of the ways in which disabled people can have a greater say on the services and businesses disabled people interact with locally. By providing a platform for disabled people to represent their needs together it is hoped we can strengthen the move towards a more equitable society, where disabled people enjoy the same opportunities as everyone else.
This meeting will give members a chance to talk about social care, and the LGA green paper on adult social care, and the Hidden Disability Toolkit for employers, with Joyce Reynolds from Sheffield City Council and Kathryn Littlewood currently from DWP. Members can also find out about Cohesion Sheffield and find out how we can work more closely with the Cohesion Network in the city.
People can catch up with the four priority strands of the Disability Hub and to think about actions and activities the Hub can organise to create awareness and change on issues around housing, transport, employment and social care. The meeting runs from 2 o’clock to 4 o’clock and we would love to see you there.
