Could this be your Second Favourite Disability Blog?: Simply Emma

The internet is filled with blogs about disability, but it can be hard to know where to find them – that’s where our on-going feature comes in. We’ve been highlighting other disability focused blogs from around the internet, and who knows, one of them could end up being your second favourite disability blog, after ours of course!

Simply Emma is a blog about disability, lifestyle and travel, written by Emma, “a Scottish girl living in a small Scottish town with her partner and their wee cat, Milo…” who has a passion for travel.

Emma has a muscle-wasting condition called Limb Girdle Muscular Dystrophy (LGMD), and she explains that Simply Emma was created “as a way of sharing my experiences living with a physical disability as well as the other aspects of my life – focussing on accessible travel from a wheelchair user’s perspective.”

Expect to find disabled travel tips, reviews on accessible and sometimes not so accessible attractions, music venues, holiday destinations, and much more. Emma wants to share her travel experiences in the hope that it might inspire other people living with a disability to start travelling around the world too.

Let us know what you think about Emma’s blog in the comments below, we’re certainly fans! Keep checking back with us to see which blogs we highlight next, and why not let us know about your favourite disability related blogs?

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.

Very good presentation, brave of the speakers to tell their stories and had a very high impact - feedback from Mate/Hate Crime presentation and video session at Safeguarding Working Together Conference
