You may have seen in the media that there has been a significant increase in scammers attempting to obtain personal information by sending out texts suggesting that people are eligible for cost of living payments.
Please remember that if you are eligible for a cost of living payment
- you will not need to apply for the payment
- you will not need to call the DWP
- the payment to you is automatic
- the DWP will never ask for personal details by SMS or email.
