The Football Association ( FA ) has made a £1.5 million investment into disability football across the country, with the goal of encouraging people to engage more with the sport. Sam Firth, football development officer ( disability ) for Sheffield and Hallamshire County FA, is planning to put together a football development group . The aim is to develop a plan to ensure that the investment made, both in terms of time and money, is used to meet the needs of the community.
The County FA is particularly keen on involving players, parents and carers with an interest in supporting the development of disability football in the local area.
Sam said “We developed a plan for this season based on data, best practice from other counties and previous successful partnerships. For the next 2 seasons we would like to offer you the opportunity to guide us in developing a plan which meets the needs of our area. We will be selecting a group of individuals who we believe are in the best place to support the development of the County Planning process. Please note the group will only meet a couple of times a year.
