A Cuppa and Support for Carers

A Cuppa and Support for Carers

Sheffield Carers Centre has a new webpage providing details of their Carers Cafės and Support Groups.

The in-person Carers Cafė event takes place at 10am on the 2nd Friday of each month at the United Reformed Church in the city centre (S1 2JB) and Zoom events are held on all the other Fridays. Dates for the Friday Café events at the United Reformed Church this Spring and Summer are 11 March, 8 April, 13 May, 10 June and 8 July.

The webpage also has details of when ‘carer support groups’ meet at various locations around the city. All events offer a friendly space to meet and support each other. It’s a great chance to meet other carers, share experiences and have a break. Groups are usually run by community leaders, volunteers or carers themselves, although a small amount of groups are currently being run by Sheffield Carers Centre staff.

All carers are welcome irrespective of their caring role and there is no need to book a place. All the Zoom events are free to join and any donation to the cost of refreshments is all that’s needed for the in person Cafe in the city centre.

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.

Very good presentation, brave of the speakers to tell their stories and had a very high impact - feedback from Mate/Hate Crime presentation and video session at Safeguarding Working Together Conference

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)
