The Challenging Behaviour Foundation has worked with family carers and advocacy partners (Bringing Us Together, Advonet, Cloverleaf, Warrington Speak Up and Pathways Associates) to produce a practical advocacy guide for family carers who have an adult relative who has a learning disability or is autistic and who have been or may be admitted to a mental health service.

Sheffield University’s Faculty of Social Sciences are working with academics from the School of Education to create a video for a research project into how captions in films and TV could be changed to improve Deaf audiences’ viewing. They are looking for two people who identify as D/deaf and use BSL as their first language to appear in the video and you will be paid for your time.

Shaping Our Lives has launched a free guide and video which can help you share your lived experience. It contains an overview of what involvement means, who can do it, how to have a positive and inclusive experience, and where you can go to find opportunities. It’s also a useful resource for user-led groups to send to their members or if you organise involvement activities.

Karen Mutsatsa , a disabled post graduate researcher in psychology at Anglia Ruskin University, is carrying out research asking what living a ‘Good Life’ means when you have a physical or sensory impairment. The research will involve 20 questions and a £15 amazon gift voucher to show appreciation of participating in the study.
