  • Let’s Talk About Restraints Toolkit

    For the last two years we have been collaborating with Active Independence and the Individual Employer and PA Group to develop some useful downloadable resources that can be simply used by Individual Employers to train their own staff, any health and social care worker who works with disabled people and other interested parties. We have recently launched an online resource which has been funded by Skills for Care.

  • APPG for Disability Inquiry into Halving the Disability Employment Gap

    The All Party Parliamentary Group for Disability invites written submissions to inform its inquiry into how the Government can fulfil its pledge to halve the disability employment gap. We would therefore like to ask disabled people to share their feelings and any personal stories of bearing the effects of unemployment or trying to stay in work. Please feel free to share them with us and let us know if you are happy to use them as examples in our response. We are happy to anonymise them if you would prefer.

    Listen to yesterday’s recording of Andrew Crooks talking on BBC Radio Sheffield about what the budget announcement meant to him and other disabled people in Sheffield. Andrew was quick to highlight that the proposed changes to Personal Independence Payment (PIP) came on the back of some already tough measures affecting disabled people badly.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)
