World Mental Health Day

World Mental Health Day

The World Health Organisation recognises World Mental Health Day on 10th October every year, with a focus on a particular theme each year. The theme of 2022’s World Mental Health Day, set by the World Federation for Mental Health, is ‘Make mental health and wellbeing for all a global priority’.

World Mental Health Day is also a chance to talk about mental health in general, how we need to look after it, and how important it is to talk about things and get help if you are struggling.

We are all worried about the cost of living and this can and does affect our mental health. To help you understand, manage and improve your mental and financial health the Mental Health and Money Advice website has lots of useful tips.

Also check out the Mental Health Foundation’s Mental Health Tips. Each of their tips has been created to help us look after our mental health and is backed up by evidence from research. Give some a try and see which best suit you.

Locally Sheffield has a great resource in the Sheffield Mental Health Guide if you’re looking for support.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.
