  • Special Olympics GB National Summer Games Activity Festival

    The Special Olympics Summer Games are coming to Sheffield from 7 – 11 August. If you’re over 11 and have a learning disability you can try out new sports at this free festival on 9th August but you need to register by Friday 21st July

    To coincide with the Special Olympics coming to Sheffield we’re planning a photographic exhibition in the Winter Gardens during August to celebrate disabled people taking part in leisure activities you enjoy in the city.

  • Special Olympics National Games Mural launched in Sheffield

    A special piece of artwork and outdoor mural to celebrate the Special Olympics National Games in Sheffield in August 2017 was unveiled on St Valentine’s day in Sheffield City Centre. The final piece of art will be 8 feet tall and 16 feet wide and erected on the hoardings of Sheffield Hallam University – on the current building construction opposite the main train station in the city centre until the end of the Games.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)
