Trans Active: Sport and Fitness for the Sheffield Trans Community

Trans Active aims to help the trans community in and around Sheffield socialise and improve their fitness and mental wellbeing through sport in a safe, relaxed environment.

They run regular trans only swimming sessions at Heeley Pool, currently on the first Saturday of the month from 1.30-2.30pm. There are individual changing cubicles and they have private use of the whole pool area.

They also organise one-off sessions to allow people to try out other sports. Activities run in the last year include climbing, canoeing, sailing and badminton.

For more information contact Trans Active through Facebook or email transactive2014@gmail.com

I wondered if it would be possible to arrange a meeting with a member of the team. I am the engagement lead for the (shadow) Integrated Care System in South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw. We are in the process of undertaking a review of our hospital services and over the summer we will be undertaking some engagement as a series of recommendations have been published. We are very keen to understand what if any impact the recommendations could have on patients or the public accessing any of the five services being reviewed so that we can ensure that we hear from our whole population.

I would welcome the opportunity to discuss further.

    Kind Regards

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

Very good presentation, brave of the speakers to tell their stories and had a very high impact - feedback from Mate/Hate Crime presentation and video session at Safeguarding Working Together Conference
