Learning Disability Week 19 - 25 June

Learning Disability Week 2017 is here and up and down the UK there are events going on to raise awareness of Learning Disabilities. The focus of this year’s Learning Disability Week is employment.

Mencap, the learning disability charity, have put together a range of resources and information including Easy Read Guides to Finding Work for people with a learning disability.

Mencap have also published information detailing the benefits of employing people with a learning disability, which is a great resource for employers interested in having people with a learning disability working for them.

Inclusion North have published a special Learning Disability Week Bulletin detailing what’s on throughout the North of England during Learning Disability Week.

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)
