Lacking Parking Bays in Your Area?

Lacking Parking Bays in Your Area?

Anne-Marie Marshall ( pictured ) , is chronically ill, has chronic pain and uses a mobility scooter. Anne-Marie explains what happened after she realised, while sitting having a drink by Crookes Road, that despite the road and parking bays having been resurfaced by AMEY, there were no bays for blue badge holders.

“I think we should all have access to our communities, to be able to meet our friends and family, get to the pharmacy and the post office and do a bit of shopping. I made a complaint to the Council and a request that Crookes have disabled bays installed and that blue badge bays should be installed in communities across the City.

It’s taken quite a while to get a response! I have asked the Council a lot of questions and I have written to all Sheffield MPs and at last it’s good news!

Crookes is hopefully getting bays and the council are aware of some bays that are needed in some communities . I’ve been asked to let them know of other areas that would benefit. So I need your help!

Can you let me know if you live in an area where there are on street parking bays that don’t have bays for blue badge holders and I will let the Council know.

If you can please email me at ree.marshall33@gmail.com.”

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

Very good presentation, brave of the speakers to tell their stories and had a very high impact - feedback from Mate/Hate Crime presentation and video session at Safeguarding Working Together Conference

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.
