Have Your Say On The Council Budget

What do you think of the way Sheffield City Council is spending its funds? Do you have any complaints or suggestions? If so, you are invited to take part in a consultation aimed at finding out the public’s views. The council is planning to set a budget and council tax rates in March and April next year and wants to hear your views before then.

The council says: “Since 2010 the amount of money we have to spend has been cut by Government. Balancing the budget for 2019/20 will be very challenging, due to continuing constraints on Central Government funding at a time when demand for Social Care in particular is rising strongly.

The cuts to our funding have meant that we have had to take some very tough decisions – and these get tougher and tougher every year. We have to balance delivering vital services to the most vulnerable in the city with delivering the core, day-to-day services that every neighbourhood in Sheffield needs.”

If you would like to take part in their survey which is open now and closes on January 11 2019, you can see it on the council’s website . If you have any queries or need help with taking part in this consultation, or if you require a paper copy please email budget2019-20@sheffield.gov.uk .

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)
