DPAC Report On Universal Basic Income

Campaigning group DPAC has issued a report called ‘Solution or Illusion’ containing their concerns about the possibility of a Universal Basic Income ( UBI ) .

The organisation – whose full title is Disabled People Against Cuts – protests against the impact of government spending cuts on the lives of disabled people in Britain. Their report expresses reservations about the idea of a UBI , which has supporters from across the political spectrum.

The report says they are ‘less convinced that UBI can deliver the solution so desperately needed to fix the social security system and fear that the introduction of UBI could further disadvantage people who have suffered the most since 2010.’

Here is the full report or you can see a summary on the DPAC website.

You can find out more about and the Sheffield branch of DPAC on Facebook.

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.
