Call for Videos for Carers Rights Day

Call for Videos for Carers Rights Day

The theme for Carers Rights Day 2020 on Thursday 26 November is ‘Know Your Rights’ .

Carers need to know their rights wherever they are in their caring journey, whether in the workplace, in a healthcare setting, when interacting with professionals or at home.

This Carers Rights Day, Carers UK want to empower carers with information and support, so they can feel confident asking for what they need and know how to challenge things when their rights are not being met.

Sheffield Young Carers and Sheffield Carers Centre are working together to make a series of campaign videos to mark Carers Rights Day. They want carers to understand they are not alone and that every carer has rights which can help to make their lives easier and they’d love your help!

They want their campaign to include a wide range of carers from our diverse caring community in Sheffield, so are asking carers to make a short video and send it to them by Friday 6th November. Read how to do so here

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.

Very good presentation, brave of the speakers to tell their stories and had a very high impact - feedback from Mate/Hate Crime presentation and video session at Safeguarding Working Together Conference

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)
