Are Friends Electric Club Night - 2 - 5pm

Sunday 9th March

The club is hosted by Isaac and Stuart White (with contributions from other DJs). Isaac is living with Duchenne muscular dystrophy and the event at Samuel Worth Chapel, The Gatehouse, Cemetery Avenue, Sheffield S11 8NT celebrates diversity, foregrounding the full participation of people with disabilities. £5 entry cost with proceeds to Duchenne’s.

Building on his experience of his Synth Pop and Bowie nights last year, Isaac is keen to extend the nightlife options for people like him living with additional needs. The club night is supported by Under the Stars

Isaac says: “‘Are Friends Electric?’ is a Synthpop, Futurepop, and Darkwave club night. In the spirit of early Synthpop, with its sense of an open and positive future, we aim to build a space for dance, conversation, and art that is open and inclusive.

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)
