Volunteering

Our volunteers are a valued asset to the work of our organisation. We benefit greatly from our volunteers knowledge, skills and experience, ideas and enthusiasm and would like to take this opportunity to say:-
Thank you to all our volunteers, past and present.

Recent research by Disability Rights UK and Community Service Volunteers has found evidence that many disabled people are experiencing difficulty in finding volunteering roles.

Disability Sheffield promotes and has delivered training on Inclusive Volunteering. Being inclusive is not about giving special treatment or favouritism. Inclusive Volunteering is about ensuring everyone can access the same opportunities by recruiting individuals with relevant skills for a clearly defined volunteer role and offering an appropriate level of support with any adjustments a disabled person may need to carry out the role.

If you would like to find out more about volunteering please contact us.

We will arrange to meet you for an informal chat and will then ask you to complete and return our application form.

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)
