Victim Support is an independent charity offering free, confidential support to people directly and in-directly affected by crime.  Our volunteers are highly trained to provide support and information to people from all communities, whatever crime they have suffered, whenever it happened and regardless of whether the Police are involved.

As a volunteer you will have the opportunity to develop new skills and experience, meet new people, help your community and find out more about crime, criminal justice and the legal system.

Most of our roles are flexible with options to give time during the day, in the evening or at weekends.  We will provide the training and support you need, along with agreed expenses to carry out your role.

Volunteer to work directly with people affected by crime:

  • Required to be reliable with good people skills, including effective listening and communication skills, and the ability to signpost people to information and services available

Volunteer to raise funds and awareness:

  • Promote the work of Victim Support with the aim to raise awareness of the effects of crime and the services available, and to identify potential vital donations required to support our work

Volunteer to provide office support:

  • Provide administrative support in our local office(Training will be provided)

As an organisation, we are committed to supporting the needs of the diverse communities we serve. We need volunteers of all ages and from all walks of life to help us reach out to everyone in need, whatever their race, beliefs, lifestyle or background.

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.
