Foundry 1 GP Hub Proposals

Are you a patient at Burngreave Surgery, Sheffield Medical Centre, or the branch sites at Herries Road Surgery or the Cornerstone Building? If so, there are proposals to change the buildings where these GP surgeries might operate from. A new building is proposed on Spital Street close to Sheffield Medical Centre so that all of the other buildings can close. The link on the left takes you to a map of the proposals.

There are public meetings being run by NHS and local community organisations detailed later. If you cannot make these or would prefer a smaller setting, then Disability Sheffield are running a Zoom session to discuss the impacts for disabled people and hear your thoughts on the consultation survey. Join us on the 26th of September at 2pm on Zoom by contacting consultations@disabilitysheffield.org.uk in advance for the login details. You can also share any thoughts on this topic to the same e-mail address by the end of September.

You will need to look at the full details of the proposal which can be found here and we recommend you read this before completing the consultation survey. You can contact us at consultations@disabilitysheffield.org.uk: if you have any accessibility difficulties using the materials prepared by the NHS. The above emails address can also be used to share any thoughts on this topic by the end of September.

Public meeting information supplied by the NHS. Sessions are run by the NHS and local community groups as follows:

  • 17th August at 12 noon at Vestry Hall.
  • 24th August at 10:30am at Verdon Street Community Centre.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.
