Disability & Dyslexia Support Service

If you have an impairment or condition that can make it difficult for you to undertake study-related tasks like sitting exams, reading, planning and writing assignments, attending classes and taking notes in them or delivering presentations, then you are likely to be eligible for disability support.

We support students who:

  • have a specific learning difficulty such as dyslexia, dyspraxia or ADHD

  • have a mental health condition such as depression or an anxiety disorder

  • have an autism spectrum condition

  • are blind or partially sighted

  • are deaf or hard of hearing

  • have a long standing illness or health condition such as asthma, epilepsy or chronic fatigue syndrome

  • have a physical impairment or mobility difficulty

This is not an exhaustive list; if you have an impairment or condition that is not covered here but which has an impact on your studies please contact us to discuss what support we can offer you. See www.sheffield.ac.uk/disability for more information.

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)
