Working Families: Changing the way we live and work

Working Families is the UK’s leading work-life balance organisation. We help working parents and carers and their employers find a better balance between responsibilities at home and work.

Working Families provides advice to parents and carers who work or wish to work. We have a legal helpline for free advice on maternity, paternity and flexible working rights, problems at work, discrimination and in-work benefits. The helpline is run by a team of solicitors and advisers and has an Advice Quality Standard Quality Mark. Call 0300 012 0312 or email advice@workingfamilies.org.uk.

Our website offers a wealth of advice and information on employment rights and benefits for working parents.

You might find our services useful if you work in a children’s centre, family information service or a citizens advice bureau. Or you may be a midwife, a youth worker or some other voluntary or local authority service provider who works with parents.

We also run the ‘Waving not drowning’ network for parents of disabled children, and carers, offering support and advice for those who are in work, or who wish to work.

Very good presentation, brave of the speakers to tell their stories and had a very high impact - feedback from Mate/Hate Crime presentation and video session at Safeguarding Working Together Conference

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.
