Temple Grandin Film Screening for World Autism Awareness Week 1.30pm - 4pm

Wednesday 3rd April

In support of World Autism Awareness Week, Sheffield Hallam University will be screening a film based on the life story of Temple Grandin.

This thought-provoking narrative illustrates how differences can be embraced in creative ways instead of being perceived as deficiencies.

The film will be followed by an optional discussion with refreshments and cakes; and all attendees who have an interest in autism are welcome.

The screening takes place at The Void lecture theatre, Sheffield Hallam University, Owen Building, Ground Floor Lecture Theatre, S1 2LP.

This can be accessed through the Owen Building (main SHU building): from the main entrance (which is on Level 5) carry on straight forward towards the lifts and go to Level 1. It can be reached via lifts or stairs.

Further information on access to the venue can be found by clicking here.

The refreshments will be served from 1-1:30 pm in the room no 221, on the 2nd floor (look for signs indicating directions to our room). The room is located opposite the far end of the Cafe.

The film will start at 1:40 pm and host an optional discussion from 3:15 pm in The Void. The event will end at 4 pm.

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.

Very good presentation, brave of the speakers to tell their stories and had a very high impact - feedback from Mate/Hate Crime presentation and video session at Safeguarding Working Together Conference

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.
