Walking for Purpose have announced their latest dates for their August and September 2019 walks, which will be taking place in Firth Park.
Walking for Purpose is a free walking and employability project for residents of Sheffield who are seeking to improve their employment prospects.
The programme includes a gentle hour long walk followed by a workshop. These range from confidence building and self-belief, to hearing about training and volunteering opportunities, plus much more.
Walking for Purpose offers jobseekers the opportunity to gain valuable skills and training that employers want, whilst being active with a gentle walk. Participants meet at a local venue where the Walking for Purpose friendly, approachable staff will walk with you to different training providers or workplaces where you will be able to:
• Get tips from local employers/training providers to make you more employable
• Develop and enhance your skills and experiences – great for your CV
• Receive a free one day travel pass for buses, trams and trains to help you attend
• Get access to free training courses
• Attend a celebration event at the end of your journey to celebrate your achievements
Walks are scheduled for the following days/dates:
- Wednesday 7th August, 11-1pm
- Wednesday 14th August, 11-1pm
- Wednesday 21st August, 11-1pm
- Wednesday 28th August, 11-1pm
- Wednesday 4th September, 11-1pm
- Wednesday 11th September, 11-1pm
