The Dr will Zoom You Now

The Dr will Zoom You Now

Due to the Coronavirus crisis many medical and care appointments that would have taken place face-to-face are now conducted digitally. This can prove tricky for both patients and professionals, so a guide has been issued – using people’s experiences – on how to get the most out of these consultations.

National organisation Healthwatch is one of several organisations to team up to produce top tips for Getting The Most Out Of The Virtual Health And Care Experience for patients and health and care professionals.

Tips for patients include:

*Asking for a timeslot for when your remote consultation will take place.
*Letting your health care provider know how you prefer to talk – by phone, video or in-person if possible.
*Finding somewhere quiet and confidential and, if this isn’t possible or is tricky, making this clear when you are making your appointment.
*Asking your health care provider to summarise the next steps at the end of the appointment.

To read the full report about getting the most from the virtual health and care experience go to The Dr will Zoom you Now . There is also an easy read guide to making and taking part in appointments.

Meanwhile Healthwatch Sheffield would like to hear about your experiences

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

Very good presentation, brave of the speakers to tell their stories and had a very high impact - feedback from Mate/Hate Crime presentation and video session at Safeguarding Working Together Conference

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.
