Sheffield Theatres Launchpad Project

Last year Sheffield Theatres worked with a group of 10 adults with learning disabilities and/or autism and they created a show that was performed in their Studio. This year the project has developed further into running 5 weeks of skills development workshops before going into the process of making and performing a show. The project is aimed at adults with an existing passion for drama and performance who would like to develop their skills.

The audition will be a group workshop on Wednesday 17th January 2018 and the deadline for applications is Wednesday 3rd January 2018. There is no need to prepare anything. The workshops will run on Thursdays from 10.00am – 2.30pm. The term dates are as follows:

Term 1: Thursday 8th February to Thursday 15th March (not including the Thursday 22nd February)

Term 2: Thursday 12th April to Tuesday 19th June.

Participants will need to have good availability during these dates. For further information about the Launchpad project view Sheffield Theatres website .

Very good presentation, brave of the speakers to tell their stories and had a very high impact - feedback from Mate/Hate Crime presentation and video session at Safeguarding Working Together Conference

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.
