SEND Consultation

SEND Consultation

Can you give your views to help shape future support for children and young people with special educational needs in the city?

In Sheffield, there are more than 13,500 school-aged children and young people with a special educational need or disability (SEND). This equates to just over 16% of the school population.

Sheffield City Council, NHS Sheffield Clinical Commissioning Group and Sheffield’s Parent Carer Forum have worked together to draft a SEND Inclusion strategy to describe how we, as a city, improve how we meet the needs of our children and young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) and they want to know what you think about it.

You can see the strategy and give your views here . You can also send any comments you have to inclusion.strategy@sheffield.gov.uk.

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)
