Scam Warning : Always Check Council Officers' ID

Sheffield City Council has issued a warning about individuals pretending to be Council Officers who are trying to get into Sheffield residents’ homes, whilst asking for cash claiming to be collecting payment for work.

The council explained that “Council Officers NEVER ask for cash on the doorstep.”

You are urged to “always check the ID of anyone claiming to be a Council Officer before you let anyone in” and to report any concerns by phoning 0114 205 2888 or the Police non-emergency number 101.

You can also contact Sheffield City Council through Twitter if you prefer, by contacting the @SCC_Help account.

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.
