Northern Ballet In Motion: Dance Classes for Wheelchair Users

The In Motion project, which is run by Northern Ballet in Leeds, is a series of dance classes for wheelchair users, designed to develop your strength, flexibility and creative expression through unique training methods.

Working in a supportive environment with their expert teachers, you can explore movement either in or out of a wheelchair and be inspired to create your own movement.

A free taster session is taking place on 21 May and classes start on 4 June costing £6.50 per person per session.

Classes are suitable for self-propelling wheelchair users (manual or powered) and are split into two age groups; those aged 8 – 19 years and those aged 19 and over.

Specialist dance/sports wheelchairs are not required as Northern Ballet have a number available to use in classes should you wish.

For further details or an informal chat about the project, please contact Lauren Prydderch (Learning Project Manager) on 0113 220 8000 or email lauren.prydderch@northernballet.com

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.
