New Cycling Sessions at SC4A

New Cycling Sessions at SC4A

Sheffield Cycling 4 All has reluctantly decided to cancel ALL cycling sessions until further notice due to the coronavirus. We apologise for any disappointment this may cause . Thanks to funding from the National Lottery Community Fund and Sport England, Sheffield Cycling 4 All , our accessible and inclusive cycling project, is stepping up a gear and is offering new groups for people with specific health conditions or impairments at Hillsborough Park ( next to the tennis courts at the bottom of the park )from the end of March.

Feel Good Cycling Sessions
A cycling group for people who have experienced mental health issues. Meet new people in a relaxed setting whilst enjoying a low impact form of exercise that can help to reduce stress and anxiety and improve your mood.
Every Monday from 1 – 3pm ( starting Monday 30th March )

Pedal Strokes
Had a stroke? Want to meet new people and have fun in the fresh air? Cycling is a low impact form of exercise that strengthens weaker muscles and increases stamina.
Every Tuesday from 1 – 3pm ( starting Tuesday 31 March )

Visually Impaired Pedallers ( VIP Cycling Sessions )
A cycling group for people with Visual Impairments. There will be people who can look after your dogs while you ride and people to pilot the two wheeled tandems.
Every Wednesday 11.30am to 1.30pm ( starting Wednesday 1 April )

Brain Injury Cycling Group
A cycling group for people who have brain injuries. A great way to enjoy the outdoors again, increase fitness, and share this with people who have been through a similar experience.
Every Wednesday 1.30pm – 3.30pm ( starting Wednesday 1st April )

SC4A have a range of bikes and trikes to suit your needs, including 2 wheelers, side by side tandems , recumbent trikes and wheelchair tandems. . There will be a qualified cycling instructor to hand to help people get started, but the idea is that the groups will be led by the participants, who will be able to shape their future direction.

It can be intimidating getting on a trike or bike for the first time, so SC4A are offering free transport to people for their first visit to one of the specialist groups if you live in Sheffield. Please ring Tom or Rosemary on 07922 183338 or 07565 695296 to check for eligibility.

The cost is just £4 for you and a friend / family member / support. No need to book, just turn up on the day.

Message SCC4A on Facebook or email info@sheffieldcycling4all.org for more info.

Recent Feedback    (We'd love to receive your feedback, please click here to add some)

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.
