Mad Hatter's Party Was Topper Class Entertainment

A day of fancy dress and fun in a local pub has raised funds for Disability Sheffield

The Barrel in Chapeltown held a Mad Hatter’s Garden Tea Party, which turned out to be a wonderland for those who attended, with stalls, games , special ‘Wonderland’ guests and a bouncy castle to keep attendees entertained.

The money raised is still being totted up and will go towards helping disabled people in the city by promoting choice, control and independence.

Natalie Yarrow, Disability Sheffield’s Vice Chairperson, said: “I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who contributed to the success of Sunday’s event at The Barrel in Chapeltown; that is the brilliant landlady Steph Tate and her fabulous team, the Alice in Wonderland characters and an assortment of stallholders, our amazing volunteers, staff members and trustees, all of whom helped to raise the profile of Disability Sheffield whilst generating much-appreciated funds. Not forgetting The Barrel’s customers too, thank you for your support; now you know who we are maybe we can be of service to you or someone you know!”

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

Very good presentation, brave of the speakers to tell their stories and had a very high impact - feedback from Mate/Hate Crime presentation and video session at Safeguarding Working Together Conference

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.
