Have Your Say on Intermediate Care

Have Your Say on Intermediate Care

Healthwatch Sheffield, the champion for local NHS and social care services, are holding a focus group with members of the public to inform the commissioning of intermediate care beds in Sheffield. They share what people think about services with the decision makers who can make improvements.

The focus group will take place on Zoom on Tuesday 30th November from 1-2pm

What is intermediate care?

Adults might have intermediate care if they have been in hospital and are medically fit but unable to cope at home. It involves having a short stay in a care home where support is available 24 hours a day, and people can access rehabilitative care to help them regain their independence.

You don’t need to have used intermediate care to take part in the focus group, but they would particularly like to hear from anyone with experience of the service, either themselves or as a carer/relative of someone who has.

Healthwatch Sheffield is able to to offer alternative ways to have input if you do not want to or cannot attend the Zoom session.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.
