Free Magical Workshop for Young People

Changing Faces, which aims to support the 1.3 million people in the UK with a visible difference – a mark, scar or condition that makes them look out of the ordinary – have teamed up with children’s writing and mentoring centre Grimm and Co to hold a magical workshop between 4 and 6pm on Friday 4th June.

The free event will be open to anyone with a visible difference aged between 10 and 14 and living in the Yorkshire and The Humber areas. It aims to take participants on a creative story-telling adventure, helping them to increase their resilience, confidence and self-esteem. There will also be the chance for young people to explore behind the scenes at the Centre’s Apothecary . View flier .

During the workshop parents will also be given the chance to meet up and enjoy refreshments.

Places are limited but you can ensure yours by telephoning Julie or Sam at Changing Faces on 0114 2536662 or emailing yandh@changingfaces.org.uk. The charity’s Yorkshire and Humber branch is based at The Circle in Sheffield city centre.

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.
