Carers Week Offers and Events

Carers Week Offers and Events

Carers Week ( 7 – 13 June ) is an annual event that raises awareness and celebrates the massive contribution that unpaid carers make to our communities by providing a wide range of help and support to relatives and friends.

This year Sheffield Carers Centre and Sheffield Young Carers are working in partnership with Sheffield City Trust to bring leisure offers to adult and young carers. SCT is giving a free 7-day Fitness Pass to all adult carers who are registered with Sheffield Carers Centre and have a Carer Card. The Pass provides access to all the SCT gyms, fitness classes and swimming pools. If restrictions allow, carers will also be able to access the sauna and steam rooms for that time to relax.

Carers will be able to get their free Fitness Pass from 7th June. They’ll need their email address and Carer Card number. They’ll be able to sign up for this until the 30th June, and will have 30 days to use the pass from the day it is activated. All sessions must be pre-booked on the Sheffield City Trust website.

Please note that numbers of places for all activities will be limited in line with Government Covid guidance.

Carers will need to be registered with Sheffield Carers Centre and can register online here or by calling 0114 278 8942.

The second offer is for young carers (between the ages of 8 and 25) who are being supported by Sheffield Young Carers, to have exclusive access to a free ice-skating session at Ice Sheffield on either Saturday 19th or Saturday 26th of June.

Carers are encouraged to also take a look at the other offers on the Carer Card.

Full details of these offers and local events during Carers Week are on the Sheffield Carers Centre Website .

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.
