The report ‘Out of Bounds:Equity in Access to Urban Nature’ is compiled by the National Outdoors For All Working Group.

    Accessible Polling Stations Campaign Pays Off

    Congratulations to our very own advocate and Sheffield campaigner, Anne Everson ,who has spoken of her success in ensuring more of the city’s polling stations are accessible to disabled people. Anne started her campaign three years. Due to her efforts and just before the elections took place this week Walkley Library polling station was moved to Ebenezer Methodist Church and the Hallamshire Tiles polling station was moved to Crookesmoor Lifelong Learning Centre.

    New Guidance for Visits out of Care Homes

    From Tuesday 4 May, people living in care homes in England will not have to self-isolate if they leave the home to be in the garden of a relative or friend, or to visit outdoor spaces such as parks.Nicci Gerrard, from John’s Campaign, said the change of stance, announced by the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC), was “a chink of light for residents of care homes and their families, and a victory for all those people who have been eloquent in their campaign against the 14-day rule”.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)
