This includes chair based workouts from Get Yourself Active and SIV home workouts now that the venues are closed and the Exercise Referral Scheme has been postponed.

Voluntary Action Sheffield has been overwhelmed with offers to help out during the Covid-19 crisis and appreciate the fantastic response. The offers of volunteers is greater than the need or the capacity of charities to recruit and deploy volunteers. Over the next weeks VAS will be building the systems to manage volunteers and match volunteers to requests saying “Please bear with us at this time. We know it won’t be long before the need in the community increases rapidly, and the number of volunteers needed will sharply increase”

Disabled people using the Motability scheme to lease cars and other equipment to help them get around have been told not to worry if their deal and insurance are due to run out in the next few months .AUnder the scheme most people who qualify through Disability Living Allowance or Personal Independene Payments lease a vehicle for three years.

Consumer advice website MoneySavingExpert has issued a comprehensive page of financial advice for people who may have money problems due to the coronovirus lockdown.
MSE founder and television regular Martin Lewis said: “The UK sadly, rightly, importantly is shutting down. This has a mountainous and potentially catastrophic impact on people’s livelihoods, income and finances.”

The Covid-19 Mutual Aid UK site provides links to more than 50 mutual aid groups in the South Yorkshire area .

Serious concerns have been raised about the implications of the Coronavirus Bill regarding the human rights of vulnerable groups, including disabled people. The Coronavirus Bill suspends the Care Act. The second reading of the Coronavirus Bill is today, Monday 23 March. DRUK are calling on disabled people to act now by writing to their MP, tweeting them or otherwise contacting them to explain their concerns.
