  • Could you be a Host for England Netball?

    England Netball are looking to expand their sessions for Walking Netball across the country and want to train up more people to deliver these sessions in South Yorkshire.The next training session for ‘hosts’ is on 24th February from 10am-4pm at the XP academy in Doncaster .

  • Regional Stakeholder Network seeks Members and Chairs

    The Office for Disability Issues are looking for Chairpersons and Members for 9 regional groups across England.The Regional Stakeholder Network will bring the views of disabled people, local disability organisations and organisations that represent disabled people closer to government. Applications should be completed by 29th March 2019.

  • MPs Back Model's Campaign Against Online Abuse

    Model Katie Price’s campaign to make online abuse towards disabled people a criminal offence has won the backing of MPs after more than 220,000 people signed her petition. Following an inquiry the Chair of the House of Commons Petitions Committee said “The law on online abuse is not fit for purpose and it is truly shameful that disabled people have been forced off social media while their abusers face no consequences.”

  • Sheffield Theatres' Launchpad Project Returns

    The Launchpad Project, designed to help adults with learning disabilities and/or autism develop skills in drama and performance, is back and looking for new recruits. Organised by Sheffield Theatres, it gives participants the opportunity to work with professionals to develop their performance skills and devise a performance all of their own. Auditions this year are on Thursday 28th March, and the deadline for applications is Friday 1st February .

  • Twelve disabled people die every day waiting for benefit decisions

    Campaigning journalist Steve Topple has reported that over 21,000 sick and disabled people died between April 2013 and 2018 while waiting for a decision about their benefit claim. The figures were published by DWP Minister Sarah Newton in response to a question by Labour MP Madeleine Moon and questions are being asked about the figures’revelations.

  • Become a Member of the Disability Football Development Group

    The Football Association have made a £1.5 million investment into disability football across the country with the goal of encouraging people to engage more with the sport. The County FA is particularly keen on involving players, parents and carers who would like to take part in a football development group for the region.
