Advocacy

Due to the emergency legislation that has been introduced in reaction to COVID-19, there has been some confusion about if and how people could access advocacy during this time.

Advocacy QPM
Their resources include a myth-busting fact sheet and an easy read guide to advocacy during COVID-19.

Disability Sheffield
Our advocacy service is still providing regular telephone contact and support for our existing advocacy clients. We are still taking referrals for people who are struggling to access health and social care or through the advocacy hub. However the service we can provide is limited to phone and email contact at this time. Email us at CV19@disabilitysheffield.org.uk or phone 0114 2536750 Mon-Fri 9-5.

Sheffield Advocacy Hub
Their face to face services are now closed but you can still get support by phoning 0800 0350396 , Mon-Fri 9-5.

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.
