Dementia Action Week

Monday 21st May

Dementia Action Week takes place on 21 – 27 May and the Alzheimer’s Society are asking everyone to take actions big and small to improve the lives of people affected by dementia.

In the UK, one person develops dementia every three minutes. Yet too many people living with dementia face the condition alone and excluded from society.

Alzheimer’s Society are determined to create a dementia-friendly UK where people with dementia are included and supported to live the lives they want. But this can’t achieved alone.

That’s why this Dementia Action Week they’re asking you and everyone you know to come together and take small actions that will make a huge difference.

Events will be taking place across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. You can also organise your own event if you wish to take part. To promote your event, please order from Alzheimers UK’s list of free awareness raising materials using their form by clicking here.

Disability Sheffield is a forward-thinking, energetic organisation doing a lot of positive work in Sheffield. I have no doubt they will continue to do so for a long time to come.

A fantastic presentation thought provoking and good questions from the floor around promoting this film/message to the general public not just professionals.

When I moved to Sheffield nearly five years ago it was my "go to" organisation. I expect it to stay that way. All the staff and volunteers seem to pull out little gems of effort that disabled people like me couldn't do without. Professionally and personally - I love em :)
